Nick and Peter joined the Club to give the second talk of the season, providing an overview of their sail to Spitzbergen in the Svalbard archipelago.
Their voyage was ‘several’ years ago, when the glaciers hadn’t retreated as much, but the area has changed less than many parts of the world.
The scenery was stunning, both flora and fauna. There was limited use of the sails, as the wind was generally very light, but the already low temperatures probably didn’t need wind chill to be added!
