Although the majority of sailing by Club members is within relatively local waters, there are some who are more intrepid adventurers, and sail further afield. For Tom Sperrey, The North West Passage was calling.
The list of boats who have attempted the challenging sail from Greenland ‘Over The Top’ to Alaska is short, but Night Owl was set to join it.
We heard from Tom about the beautiful scenery, the wildlife and of course the icebergs. The passage wasn’t without it’s challenges, and it was a fascinating insight into Tom’s trip, but didn’t generate a long line of people wanting to follow his example!
