All of a sudden, the year was coming to an end, and it was time for the Club’s Laying Up Supper. We returned to The Furze Bush, for a delicious meal and the opportunity to catch up with other Club members.
There was a summary of the year’s events, the annual raffle, but even more importantly was the awarding of the presitigious Uncle Albert. Many can enter, but only one can win!
Members held their breath as they waited to hear if their names would be mentioned. There were tales of life jacket mishaps and objects lost overboard, but ultimately, the award went to a member for their unintentional swim, while trying to start their outboard. As always, identities are concealed to protect the guilty.
