We open our winter talk series with the usual NYC Cheese, wine & new member welcome evening in addition this year we also have a talk from NYC member Jane Williams.
Jane sailed to Greenland in the summer of 2022 from St John’s Newfoundland to Disko Bay Greenland and from there, along the coast of Greenland. Encountering Humpbacks and Icebergs along the way!
Jane has a wealth of sailing experience from sailing family dinghies in Norfolk then racing Merlin Rockets with her husband.
Later sailing & racing with their children on the European circuit with RS 200s.
Jane bought her current Nicholson 35 from her Mum in 2008, which has now been in the family for 37 years.
Long trips have included the Azores, the Spanish Rias and Northern and Western France. Jane is also very active with the river Exe SC leading the Girls Go Sailing team of 80 women and girls who are keen to grow in confidence, building sailing experience in an inclusive and friendly way.
