Another year has flown past, with the traditional mixture of WInter Talks and Rallies. Although it seems impossible that it’s been a whole year since our last AGM, what seems harder to believe is that it’s already time to welcome new Commodore and say goodbye to our current one.
Leslie Lowenthall has served the Club brilliantly for the last three years, despite the challenges he’s faced during his tenure. A broken finger anyone? How about Covid-19 making plans for anything difficult, let alone a Club based on its sociability. It will be a shame to see him step aside to a more general role on the committee, but he’s earned his ‘retirement’ from the top spot.
Leslie is being ably replaced as Commodore by Andy Brown, who makes the step up from Vice Commodore. He’s already planning the Commodore’s Cruise and will cetainly have other ideas to bring to the Club.
