Following straight on from the Fitting Out Supper, the Spring Rally saw a select fleet of yachts heading to the north of Southampton Water, to visit Hythe Marina. For once, access by sea was actually easier than by land, with the only road route having partially collapsed a couple of days previously. Yachts aren’t often viewed as the ‘practical option’, but it seems sometimes they are!
Once the challenges of entering the tight access of the locked marina were overcome, tea, cakes and Pimms brought everybody together on the pontoon. Basil, the dog, welcomed everybody to his home marina. Perhaps we should have a special membership section for canines!
