Despite the November torrential rain and howling gales, thoughts have turned to the Spring Cruise.  Our Vice commodore, then to be commodore, is taking over from Leslie (very hard act to follow) and is planning a West Country cruise trying to take in a few places we haven’t been to for a while.  Tides mainly dictate a slightly later start than recent years meeting in Portland on 28th May and departing for Brixham early on 29th.  Those interested in joining please let the vice commodore (vicecommodore@newburyyachtclub.com) know so he can start booking berths etc. during December.

Below is the suggested itinerary with the cruise starting in Portland and ending in Dartmouth on 7th June, but anyone who wants to join late or leave early will be very welcome to do so.

Departing the Solent on 27th of May with a possible stopover in Poole to be in Portland for the 28th for an early departure on the 29th rounding the Bill around 0618.

Departing Brixham for Salcombe on the 31st May.

Departing Salcombe for Plymouth on the 2nd June.

Departing Plymouth for Fowey on the 4th June.

Departing Fowey for the river Yealm on the 6th June.

Departing the river Yealm for Dartmouth on the 7th June.

Part 1 will finish in Dartmouth.

There is then a further plan to head westward later in June for the Scilly Isles for those that have the time. Details to follow as plans are firmed up.

Please let the vice commodore email:- vicecommodore@newburyyachtclub.com know if you wish to attend and how much of the itinerary you are interested in joining
