Tom Cunliffe – “The Life and Times of the Shell Channel Pilot” – 10th February 2022

Tom Cunliffe returns in-person to the Newbury Yacht Club.

Needing no introduction, Tom’s previous talks have been very popular, with capacity audiences.

‘The Life and Times of the Shell Channel Pilot’  I inherited this well-known guide for yachtsmen in the English Channel from the swashbuckling Commander Johnnie Coote, who in turn had it from the legendary Adlard Coles. In this lecture, I combine the history of the book with some of the misadventures the current Pilot has to go through for his readers. Fully illustrated.
