AGM – Mar 2020
Despite many members opting for self-isolation rather risk exposure to the corona virus, there were sufficient members attending to have a quorum and allow the AGM to go ahead. It did mean there was more than enough cheese and wine to go around!
Our outgoing Commodore, Barney, gave us a round-up of his time in office and it was clear just how much has happened in the last couple of years. Two notable highlights being the launch of the highly visible battle flags (to warn others of the arrival of our fleet), and the branching out into skiing. He reminded us of his dedication to attending the on-water events, even if Favorita didn’t always accompany him. The use of his car, several taxis, a dinghy and most recently a kayak does indeed demonstrate a level of persistence on his part.
With Barney’s departure to foreign shores imminent, it was time to hand over the reigns to our incoming Commodore, Leslie. There’s no doubt he’ll add his own style to the role, and we look forward to his leading the club forward over the next few years.
